(Caracas, August 21, 2009).- The CAF gallery will exhibit from August 24 to September 20, a select show of works of art from its collection.

On this occasion, 24 works were selected by important contemporary artists of Latin America, most of them are from the CAF founding countries and have received national prizes. Others have achieved international recognition and maximum expressions of the art of the region.

The show reaffirms CAF's efforts to support and disseminate Latin American art, while paying homage to important artists of the stature of Francisco Narváez, Oswaldo Vigas, Jesús Soto, Edgar Negret, Víctor Valera, Carlos Cruz Diez, Ángel Hurtado, Oscar Pantoja, Oswaldo Guayasamín and Fernando De Szyszlo, among others.

On this unique occasion, when CAF is exhibiting part of its collection to visitors to the gallery, seven of the 17 member countries of the institution are represented: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela. These works reflect the progressive enrichment of the collection and the effort being made to continue expanding its frontiers, with the idea of reuniting works of the highest level which illustrate the richness of the plastic arts of Latin America.
