(Bogotá, May 4, 2006).– CAF and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism recently signed a technical cooperation agreement for the project "The natural advantage in cosmetic and toiletry products."

The project will position the cosmetic and toiletry chain in new markets with competitive products to prepare them for new scenarios for the country following the negotiations with MERCOSUR, and the FTA with the United States and Central America.

?? As strategy for developing the project in an initial phase, the businesses involved identified studies to confirm the potential markets shortlisted as targets for competitive intelligence and the best associative scheme for strengthening the sector and increasing exports; and a feasibility study on setting up a technological development center and a portal with a directory, which will also act as a system of strategic information on the sector and exchanges between entrepreneurs in the chain.

The agreement was signed by CAF President & CEO Enrique García, and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Jorge Humberto Botero.
