Support for social inclusion and labor activities in Rosario municipality

The project will create new opportunities for the people of the migrant aboriginal community in Chaco, Toba

(Buenos Aires, August 12, 2011) .- CAF - Latin American development Bank - approved technical cooperation funds for strengthening and expanding socio-cultural inclusion activities being organized by the "El Obrador" Cultural Center of Rosario municipality. The aim is to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the Toba community, who have migrated from Chaco province. The agreement was signed by Álvaro García, CAF director representative in Argentina; Miguel Lifschitz, mayor of Rosario; and Horacio Rios, secretary of culture of Rosario.

"By supporting these projects we aim to create more and better opportunities for labor market access and new sources of productive income for the communities most in need. In this case, the target is the Toba community, by strengthening the programs implemented by the El Obrador Cultural Center," Álvaro García said.

With the funds approved by CAF, a project can be executed which requires purchase of machines and tools, building reconditioning, training and guidance on product design and marketing strategies.
