The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and the Association of Electronic Sector Entities, ASESEL, signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) for $46,000 destined for the production chain of Electrical and Professional Electronic Equipment and Machinery.

The agreement is designed to assist the companies in this production chain to competitively position their products and services in the markets of the Andean Community and Chile over the next two years, with strategies aimed at quality, service and sensitivity.

The project introduces associativity models for the Electrical and Electronic Industries applied in countries like Brazil, proposing a joint export strategy for products and services which identifies commercial contacts and business opportunities for the Colombian companies in the chain.

The Electrical Machinery and Equipment Production Chain consists mainly of the following products: cables and conductors, active parts, casings and structures, transformers, motors and generators, protection and control equipment, batteries and accumulators, lighting equipment, electrogen groups, industrial equipment and other electrical devices.

The Professional Electronics Production Chain consists of data processing, electronic components, parts and accessories, antennas for telecommunications, boxes and racks, high-power electronic equipment, telecommunications equipment, electronic circuits, and instrumentation and control, among others.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Business Development Vice Minister Carlos Alberto Zarruk; the Colombian executive of the CAF Andean Competitiveness Program, Andrés Langeback; ASESEL Director Nelsy Celys, and executives from the chain who had an active role in conceiving and organizing the project.
