CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, presented the initiative "Young Protagonist" during the VII Ibero-American Congress of Young Entrepreneurs (CIJE, for its acronym in Spanish), held in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The initiative is a virtual platform of videos and online courses that seeks to support young Ibero-Americans through a connection with successful experiences in the area of entrepreneurship.
The project is part of a collaborative work between the multilateral organization and the Ibero-American Federation of Yung Entrepreneurs (FIJE, for its acronym in Spanish), and intends to teach young people between the ages of 16 and 24 through real experiences and the learning of world leaders, authorities, personalities, entrepreneurs, artists, and athletes.
Christian Asinelli, CAF's Director of Institutional Development, explained, "the purpose is to encourage young people to seek ways to be protagonists in their professions and their local or regional communities, learning about the paths travelled by others".
The VII CIJE, organized by the institutions belonging to the FIJE, which this year was hosted by the Asociación de Jóvenes Empresarios de Ecuador (AJE) (Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Ecuador), helped reflect about Ibero American entrepreneurships that are emerging, and the need to incorporate social responsibility as a differentiating element.
CAF's work regarding youths was also presented during the meeting, specifically through the Programa #JovenCAF (CAF's Youth Program). The presentation was in charge of Nathalie Gerbasi, Senior Executive of Institutional Development at CAF, and Julieta Galicchio, external advisor. The event included the participation of representatives from other multilateral organizations, such as the IDB and the World Bank.
