At least 289 initiatives were trained in the area of entrepreneurial development, according to the most recent review of the implementation of the Andean Bio-Trade project carried out in June of this year, which benefits Colombia, Ecuador and Peru

This result is consistent with the objective of training in the area of entrepreneurial capacity, which includes programs for incubation, business plans, management, and support for associations, among others. Both public and private organizations receive training and develop inputs to review, adjust, and prepare institutional proposals.

The project, which is implemented at a local, national, and regional scale, seeks to facilitate the financing of business initiatives based on the sustainable use of bio-diversity, and support activities for the development of markets, in order to contribute to the preservation of Latin America's environment.

Total resources reach close to USD 14.4 million. The agreement was subscribed in 2010 by Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and CAF -Development Bank of Latin America
