(Special, September 8, 2008).- The book “Where is journalism headed? The teachers answer,” was launched during the VI CAF-FNPI seminar with the theme "Business social responsibility of the media: new paths in pursuit of quality journalism," organized by the two institutions in Monterey Mexico. The new title in the CAF series "Journalists of the 21st century: Spaces for a creative debate" covers issues such as transition to use of new technologies, future of the media, and current problems of journalism. The papers given by some of the teachers from the Ibero-American New Journalism Foundation (FNPI) for its tenth anniversary are now presented in book form as part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the first news report published by Gabriel García Márquez.

The book presents a complete survey of the experience acquired during a decade of FNPI activities as a reflection on a future full of uncertainty and inevitable changes in journalism. The publication is a collection of the valuable contributions from some of the best known teachers on issues such as the crisis affecting journalism, eruption of new technologies, outlines for composing a futurist profile of the media, and a vocational affirmation of the vicissitudes which - yesterday and today – characterize the profession of journalism. The aim of the venture is promote a type of journalism that fosters a substantial improvement in the quality of life of people.
