(Caracas, November 3, 2011) .- CAF - Latin American development bank - opened the Panorama: young Venezuelans artists exhibition in its Gallery. The show offers works by Alexander Martínez, Antonio Ugarte, Carlos Calderón, Érica Sogbe, Isabela Muci, Mariana Monteagudo and Roberto Weil.

The exhibition is part of the CAF policy of cultural promotion through dissemination of the most important creations of plastic art in the countries of the region, stimulating another dimension of Latin American integration. The CAF Gallery opens its space to works by established artists, as well as promoting new tendencies.

Luis Enrique Berrizbeitia, executive vice president of the Latin American financial institution, said at the opening, "With this event CAF is sponsoring an encounter of views and expressions of current Venezuelan art, representing a plurality of expressions of contemporary plastic art which reflects the cultural richness and diversity of Latin America."

"We wanted to put together a representative sample of different tendencies in our gallery, developed by a group of artists from a younger generation of Venezuelans with the aim of making their works known in the country," Berrizbeitia said.

The selection for the show includes new expressions of Landscape Painting, original forms of figuration and particular visions of Geometric Abstraction, created with a variety of techniques, reflecting a multiplicity of paths of plastic investigation in constant evolution.
