Fabián Ibarburu

General Manager - CAF-AM Uruguay

Fabián Ibarburu is a Uruguayan Chartered Financial Analyst. He worked at Citibank's Treasury from 1990 to 1996 in the Foreign Exchange and Securities Desk as Head of Operations. He was CFO of Capital AFAP from the company's inception in 1996 until the merger with Union AFAP in 2000. Financial and Investment Manager of Unión Capital AFAP (currently Itaú AFAP) from 2000 to 2009. He acted as structurer of issues of Financial Trusts and Negotiable Obligations in Uruguay. He was a consultant to the Ministry of Economy on infrastructure financing and to the Chamber of Construction for bankability of PPP projects. Postgraduate Professor of Finance at UM. Member of the National Academy of Economics. President of the CFA Society of Uruguay. Initiated operations of CAF-AM Uruguay in 2016, developing 4 Infrastructure Financing Funds until 2024.

Javier Liberman

Risk Manager at CAF AM Uruguay

Economist graduated from Udelar with more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector, occupying, most of the time, the position of Risk Manager in different organizations. The last experience was in Scotiabank until 2012. Specialized in Integral Risk Management, including, among other activities, the origination and management of active portfolios in its different segments (Financial Institutions, Corporate, SMEs, Individuals and Credit Cards), as well as in the design and execution of strategies on difficult to collect portfolios. Advisor in multiple projects in the private sector, IDB and WB Advisor, and Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance until December 2016. Since January 2017, he has served as Risk Manager of CAF-AM Uruguay, from where he has led the financing of PPP projects in Uruguay. He teaches at the Finance Postgraduate Program at ORT.

Ernesto Fernández

Portfolio Analyst at CAF AM Uruguay

Ernesto Fernández is a Certified Public Accountant graduated from Universidad de la República (UDELAR). He has a postgraduate degree in Finance from Universidad ORT Uruguay. Since 2023, he has been working as Portfolio Analyst at CAF AM Uruguay, monitoring road, educational and railway infrastructure projects.

Magdalena Mayol

Portfolio Analyst at CAF AM Uruguay

Magdalena Mayol is a Public Accountant graduated from Universidad ORT Uruguay. She holds a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Montevideo and a certificate in ESG Investing issued by the CFA Institute. Additionally, she has a Diploma in Public-Private Partnerships from CAF. Since 2021, he has been working as a Portfolio Analyst at CAF AM Uruguay, monitoring road infrastructure projects and educational centers.

Laura Berkman

Legal Manager at CAF AM Uruguay

Lawyer graduated from Universidad Católica del Uruguay with extensive experience in capital markets transactions, project finance and risk management. From 2004 to 2014 she worked in leading law firms advising companies, financial institutions and multilateral organizations in financial and commercial transactions (Bragard & Durán Abogados, Ferrere Abogados, Sanguinetti / Foderé / Bragard Abogados). Subsequently, he held positions as Legal Manager for Latin America in multinational companies in the e-commerce and energy sectors.

Sabrina Figares

Portfolio Manager at CAF-AM Uruguay

Sabrina Figares is an Uruguayan economist, graduated from the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay, with a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. The portfolio manager of CAF-AM Uruguay has more than 20 years of experience in portfolio management, projects and project finance in entities such as PwC Uruguay, PwC Paraguay, TCS Consultancy, Matriz, among others.

She is responsible for the management of several projects both in the public and private sectors, in the country and in the region (Paraguay, Chile, Panama). She has extensive experience managing projects related to organizational restructuring, process redesign, corporate governance and integrated risk management. Currently, she is in charge of the Portfolio Management area of CAF-AM.

She was Senior Manager of the Consulting Department of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Uruguay, responsible for the management of work related to process improvement, design and implementation of PMOs in public and private institutions, and management of software implementation projects.

Noelia Giuliano

Administrative Assistant at CAF-AM Uruguay

Noelia Giuliano is the Administrative Assistant at CAF-AM, since she started in 2017 fulfilling different tasks in the administrative area. She is a graduate of the Universidad del Trabajo del Uruguay in Business Administration and Commercial Secretarial. She previously worked at CAF in the Logistics and Reception sector for four years.
