CAF announces the first edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Forum 2025 in Panama

Leaders and experts will headline keynote speeches and high-level dialogues, exploring economic challenges, geopolitical dynamics, and opportunities for public-private cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. A key space to chart strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth in 2025.

Helle Thorning-Schmidt

Former Prime Minister of Denmark (2011-2015), she was the first woman to hold this position in her country. Known for her progressive approach, she promoted social welfare and sustainability policies. After her term, she led Save the Children International, strengthening its impact on children's rights and social justice.

Matteo Renzi

Former Prime Minister of Italy (2014-2016), he is known as the youngest leader to hold this position in Italian history. During his tenure, he implemented structural reforms in the economy, public administration, and education. He is the author of books such as 'Avanti: Why Italy’s Future is in its Hands', where he reflects on politics and leadership.

Sergio Díaz-Granados

Executive President of CAF since 2021, he leads initiatives to position Latin America and the Caribbean as a sustainable and resilient region. He has held key roles, including Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism of Colombia, and was a representative on the Executive Board of the IDB. A promoter of regional integration, he drives projects that combine sustainability and innovation.

Rebeca Grynspan

Currently the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, she is one of the most influential figures in global economic and social development. She served as Vice President of Costa Rica and Secretary-General of the Ibero-American General Secretariat. Known for her work on poverty reduction and promoting equity, she has authored numerous essays on sustainable development and international cooperation.

Jeremy Rifkin

An American sociologist and economist, he is an influential thinker on the future of the economy and climate change. Author of bestsellers such as "The Third Industrial Revolution" and "The Green New Deal", where he proposes strategies for transitioning to a sustainable and digital economy. He advises global leaders and governments on renewable energy and the green economy.

Joseph Oughourlian

President of PRISA, the leading Spanish-language media group and owner of renowned brands like El País and Cadena SER. He is also the founder of Amber Capital, a prominent investment firm. He has played a key role in driving PRISA's digital and strategic transformation, emphasizing innovation and education.
