CAF survey
In the framework of its research program, and with the purpose of contributing primary information for the analysis of development problems in Latin America, since 2008, CAF has been carrying out a survey of households in a group of important cities in the region.
This survey includes general modules that are carried out every year and offer measurements of access, quality, expenditure, and satisfaction with a series of basic services in the areas of urban transportation, safety, garbage collection, water and sanitation, electric energy, and housing.
Additionally, special modules have been incorporated each year, which are associated with the subjects of the Economy and Development Reports:

Although the general modules maintain their structure, in some editions of the survey, additional questions have been included which is reflected in the information presented in this website.
The cities included in this study and the number of households that are interviewed each year are distributed as follows:
The head of household or an adult between the ages of 25 and 65 was interviewed in each household. The 2008 interviews were carried out between June 27th, and July 20th; in 2009, they were carried out between July 3rd and 29th; in 2010, between August 13th and September 20th; in 2011, between June 1st and July 29th; and in 2012, between August 21st and October 19th.
The summary information presented in this website comes from data without adjustments. Data adjusted by the participation of each age group and gender in the distribution of the population in each city will be published soon in accordance with the official data of each country.
