Legal Counsel
Jorge Silva

 

 

The Legal Counsel is responsible for ensuring the legal protection of CAF’s interests and for ensuring that its instruments and contracts are entered under the Articles of Incorporation, internal regulations, the legislation in force in the countries in which it operates, and in general, the principles of law and legal correctness. In addition, the legal counsel provides timely advice and support to the legal requirements derived from the performance of CAF’s businesses and activities.

Biography

Jorge Luis Silva boasts extensive international experience. Before joining CAF, Silva served as General Counsel of Mexico’s Ministry of Economy (2018–2021) and Public Sector Specialist at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. (2013–2018).


Jorge holds a Law Degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He has completed postgraduate studies in Stanford University, California: Master of Science in Statistics (M.S.), Master of Science in Law (J.S.M.) and Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.).


Throughout his career, he has collaborated in various publications related to Empirical Legal Studies, Mexican Labor and Labor Law, and school violence.
