(Caracas, June 30, 2004).- The Andean Development Corporation (CAF) and the Venezuelan Foreign Trade Bank (BANCOEX) signed the installation agreement for the Information and Communication Technology Export Program (ExporTIC) on Tuesday June 29 at 10:00 am in the CAF headquarters.
This program will promote the international integration of the Venezuelan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector through support for 30 small- and medium-sized enterprises in one of the sectors of the Venezuelan economy with greatest potential due to the high level of human resources and infrastructure in the country.
CAF Executive President Enrique García will present the event, with representatives of the project promotion committee, including BANCOEX President Víctor Álvarez; Science and Technology Minister Yadira Córdoba; and Mercedes Briceño, executive director of the Venezuelan Council for Investment Promotion (CONAPRI).
The Corporation, through the Andean Competitiveness Program (PAC), participates with BANCOEX in ExporTIC providing finance and technical advice.
The program, which has an implantation period of 18 months, is expected to generate real knowledge of the export potential of the ITC sector, as well as achieving the objectives of the BANCOEX Knowledge Industries Export Promotion Program.
ExporTIC is the result of teamwork in the Venezuela Competes Network, formed by the CAF, the Ministry of Production and Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, BANCOEX, CONAPRI and other institutions.
