Fund management for the Facility for the Development of Geothermal Projects for Latin America
CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the KfW, on behalf of the European Union and the Group of Donors, invite to participate in the process to provide fund management services for the Facility for the Development of Geothermal Projects for Latin America (FDG, for its acronym in Spanish)
The FDG seeks to catalyze the development of geothermal energy
in the Latin American region, by offering:
(i) A Risk Mitigation Fund for Geothermal Eergy, in order to
reduce risk during the drilling stage of the project, as well as
(ii) Technical Assistance funds to coordinate the activities of the
Program. The FDG constitutes the first initiative with multiple
donors to promote geothermal energy at a continental
scale.
It is expected that it will facilitate the development of at least 7 geothermal plants. adding an installed capacity of 350 MW, with an expected investment of EUR 1 billion for the Risk Mitigation Fund to qualified developers, a task that will be carried out by the Fund Administrator and which must be accompanied by the corresponding auditing and report processes to the Donor Group.
Said group includes the main multilateral agencies that work in Latin America, such as The World Bank, IDB, Central American Bank for Economic Integration, European Investment Bank, AFD, JICA, and the Nordic Development Fund, among others
Proposals will be received until August 12th, 2015, and all documents must be delivered in English or German.
