Social innovation and university management seminar, toward a new university social responsibility
The virtual seminar calls administrators from Latin American universities to reflect on the concept and practice of University Social Responsibility, and the essential role of academia as a key actor for sustainable development
The seminar will be held between August 19th and November 25th, under the direction of philosopher and University Social Responsibility expert François Vallaeys, and will consist of 14 virtual meetings, combined with forums and work groups.
This will be an unprecedented opportunity to meet and connect university administrators with social, economic, and environmental innovation initiatives generated from within the civil society and private companies, and contribute to the creation of a network of alliances between actors for the promotion of a scientifically informed social innovation. In this respect, the seminar will include the participation of Carlos March from Avina, Rodrigo Paris from Barefoot College, Nieves Tapia from Clayss, Carolina Trivelli from Asbanc, and Pedro Tarak from Sistema B, among other renowned representatives of civil society organizations.
The call is open to participate in this meeting organized by CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, UDUAL - Unión de Universidad de America Latina y el Caribe (Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean), the Avina Foundation, and the Observatorio Mexicano de Responsabilidad Social Universitaria de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (Mexican University Social Responsibility Observatory of the Autonomous University of Yucatan).
