This course will focus on the damages that may occur on flexible pavement, and will review the most appropriate techniques to prevent and treat each type of damage that may affect pavement on our roads, in favor of overall safety and cost reduction.
The maintenance of existing roads is just as important as the construction of new infrastructure, especially in a region like Latin America with its lagging road system.
To this end, it is vital to learn about the most common problems on flexible pavement and to analyze possible causes and solutions, not only to perform adequate repairs, but to prevent these from reoccurring in the future.
- Course objective: We will review the most appropriate techniques to prevent and treat every type of damage that may affect our roads in an effort to improve safety, efficiency and comfort of transport of people and goods. Therefore, our focus will always be sustainable development. In other words, to promote development based on economic, social and environmental sustainability. In this course, we will focus on the types of damage that can occur on flexible pavements, which account for more than 90% of the paved road network.
