The goal of “The Debt Crisis 30 Years On” is to take a close look at the external debt crisis of the 1980s and the lessons learned from overcoming it.
It has been three decades since the start of the external debt crisis, one of the most damaging developments in the history of our regional economy. It ushered in the “lost decade,” leading our countries to implement a broad agenda of reform, which produced mixed results but markedly changed the face of Latin America and the Caribbean.
