The missing dimensions in the measurement of poverty
"Las dimensiones faltantes en la medición de la pobreza" (The missing variables in the measurement of poverty" is a study developed jointly by Oxford University and CAF's Social Innovation initiative. It will be presented in a conversation that will take place in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, on May 31st, in the framework of the 6th Conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Association for the Study of Human Capacities (ALCADECA, for its acronym in Spanish)
The report shows six new variables that enrich the perspectives to understand poverty as a phenomenon, and whose relevance is essential to achieve the objectives of the new sustainable development agenda, as to achieve them, it is necessary to understand those aspects that people in a situation of poverty value in relation to their lives, which affect the development processes.
The meeting will include the participation of Diego Zavaleta, Researcher of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), Nicolás Lussich, journalist for economic subjects, and, Ana Mercedes Botero, Director of Social Innovation at CAF.
