IV Latin American Communications Congress
During the 2016 Latin American Telecommunications Congress (CLT)16), ministers, congressmen, academics, and senior representatives form the ecosystem of telecommunications enterprises from Latin America, will participate in a series of seminars, workshops, and plenary session to present and discuss public policies that strengthen Latin American connectivity
The fourth edition of the Latin American Telecommunications Congress (CLT16) will take place on June 20-23 at the CasaMagna Marriott Resort in Cancun. Mexico. After the success of the three past editions, the CLT16, organized by UIT, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, ASIET, GSMA LA, and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of Mexico will be the most relevant space to debate the guidelines for regulatory modernization, challenges for the construction of infrastructure, regional economic situation and perspectives and its impact on the ICT sector, and security and privacy in the new digital context, among other subjects that are of the utmost importance for all of us.
As in previous editions, other organizations are actively participating, such as Lacnic (Latin American and Caribbean IP Address Regional Registry), Isoc (Internet Society, and Icann (Internet Corporation for the Assignment of Names and Numbers). In addition, within the framework of the Congress, for the second consecutive year the CPR Latan Conference 2016 will be held, allowing for debates from an academic point of view regarding the main challenges of the industry in Latin America.
We specially highlight the Seminar "Conectividad y Mercado Único Digital en América Latina" (Connectivity and Single Digital Market), organized by ASIET, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), where the European experience will be the basis to analyze the configuration of a digital market of this type, the elements and barriers that must be taken into consideration in light of the reality of Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to be successful and to promote the development of the digital economy.
