Mobility at break point : Opportunities to overcome old paradigms
The Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Secretaría Distrital de Movilidad of Bogotá (District Mobility Secretariat), with the support of Despacio, Steer Davies Gleave, and the Universidad de los Andes, will organize an event to discuss the concept of transportation today, and examples will be presented regarding the new challenges and opportunities
The past decade has generated more transportation options than the past one hundred years, to the point where it is necessary to re-define the concepts of public transportation, and private, collective, and individual transportation in a more explicit manner.
The emergence of concepts such as shared mobility and the technological applications with functions such as quality of service, user follow-up, or provision of services have also generated a need to understand a new dimension of the transportation sector, which goes together with new preferences and lifestyles of the new generations.
The debates that have emerged around these subjects go from regulatory to the implications of privacy, intertwined by the need to improve the experience of citizens as the main objective of the transportation system. Finally, there are many more opportunities for the analysis of mobility data that increase the amount of information and reliability of the data, and reduce the costs of the analysis, which are also enriched with a collaborative scenario.
