Disruptive Technologies to Mitigate Effects of COVID-19
Digitization can play a pivotal role in mitigating the effects of the pandemic. In this online debate we explain how.
The COVID-19 pandemic is putting an increasingly heavy load on digital infrastructures. Lockdown and distancing measures in all countries of the region has led to extraordinarily widespread use of telecommunications networks for teleworking, purchase of goods, social connectivity, access to information and entertainment.
In this context, how are Latin America’s digital infrastructures reacting? How is the region using disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation or drones?
These are some of the questions that a group of international experts will answer on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. Caracas time; 9:00 a.m. in Bogota; 11:00 a.m. in Buenos Aires; 4:00 p.m. in Madrid, in a hangout organized by CAF.
The debate will be moderated by Andrea Bernal, a journalist for NTN 24, and will feature CAF ICT expert Mauricio Agudelo, director of Business Strategy Research at Columbia Institute for Tele-information Raul Katz, president of Digital Policy and Law Jorge Negrete, and head the ECLAC Regional Broadband Observatory Fernando Rojas.
