Arcanum Quintet to give concert at CAF
The Arcano Quintet is formed by Rafael Brito, cuatro; Eddy Marcano, violin; Andres Medina, oboe; Peter Colombet, guitar; and David Carpio, double bass. All of them are from the Children’s and Youth Orchestras movement. Their goal as virtuosos is to develop Venezuelan music with creations of their own inspiration, incorporating new forms which enrich the variety of musical genres in the country.
The group performs a variety of musical styles played on traditional instruments such as the harp, cuatro and maracas, with traditional dances such as joropos, waltzes, pasajes and golpes, in an original performance which combines cuatro, guitar and double bass with violin and oboe, resulting in an harmonious counterpoint from an urban perspective full of subtleties and colors.
