First graduation of leaders in governance and political management
Guayaquil Catholic University, with the sponsorship of the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) and the academic backing of George Washington University, will graduate 69 leaders who have taken the Governance and Political Management Training Program in a ceremony in the Main Hall on April 24 at 1900. The following day on April 25, at 1800, Quito Pontifical University will graduate a further 40 political leaders who have also passed the Program.
Mindful of its social responsibility to create real political leaders for the country, generate new structures and forms of leadership to meet the new challenges of our times, the Guayaquil Santiago Catholic University concluded the course designed for leaders, authorities and people involved in local government.
Integrating analytical science with the practical art of politics, the program has produced a legacy of professionals interested in leading political systems rather than thinking up political theories which signifies for the country a real renewal of the old structures.
The ceremony will be attended by Elvira Lupo, CAF director of governance and technical cooperation; Luis Raúl Mathos Azocar, director de political management for Latin America of George Washington University; and the university authorities.
