IV Meeting of the IIRSA opens in Caracas
The Executive Management Committee of the South American Regional infrastructure Integration Initiative (IIRSA) began its fourth meeting on July 1. Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez opened the meeting in a ceremony in the Ayacucho Room of Miraflores Presidential Palace. The CAF was represented by Executive President Enrique García, Infrastructure Vice President Antonio Juan Sosa, with other members of the CAF IIRSA team.
The meeting reviewed the achievements of the Initiative in relation to the activities and work plans for the Integration and Development Hubs and the Sectoral Integration Processes, and identifying future challenges. Other important activities include the election of the president and vice president of the IIRSA for the January-December period of 2004.
The meeting was attended by high-level delegations from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname and Uruguay, along with representatives of IDB, CAF and FONPLATA, organizations that form the Technical Coordination Committee of the Initiative.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
