Incubator for Technology-Based Companies launched in Pichincha
The inauguration ceremony of EMPRENDER, an Incubator for Technology-Based Companies in Pichincha, was held in the Library Room of the Hotel Marriott on Thursday September 4, 2003. The partners in the company are the Pichincha Provincial Government; Quito City Government; ESPE; EPN; UNITA; UTE; Esquel Foundation; Oracle; ENLACEFONDOS; AESOFT; the Chamber of Commerce and Kruger Corporation.
EMPRENDER is a regional (Pichincha) joint venture specializing in identifying and developing companies that use technology and/or innovation, whose products, services or processes have high potential profitability and value added. The company´s offices are located in Edificio Las Cámaras.
The Incubator advises teams of entrepreneurs on preparation of business plans and start-up of their companies, as well as accompanying them in their entry into the local and international market with a view to generating: jobs, development, competitiveness, efficiency, dynamism, production and regional and national economic growth.
The Andean Development Corporation, CAF, has promoted the creation of this Technology-Based Company Incubator in Pichincha, as part of its Andean Competitiveness Program, with a contribution of $20,000.
During the ceremony, the EMPRENDER logotype was unveiled and prizes were presented to the winning designers.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
