'Journalism and ethics' seminar in La Paz
Bolivian President Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada opened the seminar on "Journalism and Ethics" organized by the La Paz Journalists Association and sponsored by the Andean Development Corporation. For two days, specialists from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela will exchange experiences on journalistic ethics in the Andean countries. Speakers at the event include Javier Darío Restrepo (Colombia), Simón Espinoza (Ecuador), Juan Gargurevich (Peru) and Asalía Venegas (Venezuela).
The topics covered relate to the social responsibility of journalists, journalistic ethics in the region, the ethics of sensationalism, and journalism in times of crisis. The La Paz Journalists Association will present a proposal for the creation of the "National Ethics Council."
Participants in the inaugural session included Bolivian President Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada; La Paz Journalists Association President Víctor Toro; CAF Director of Secretariat and Corporate Communications José Luis Ramírez; presidential spokesman Mauricio Antezana; and the President of the Tribunal of Honor of the La Paz Journalists Association Ronald Grebe.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
