Peruvian President Toledo and CAF President Enrique García meet in Lima
Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo and CAF President & CEO Enrique García met today in the Government Palace in Lima.
Leaving the meeting, García said "the audience was the venue for a review of the close relations that have existed for 35 years between the Corporation and the Republic of Peru." He added that there was space to propose new projects for working together.The multilateral development bank approved a total of US$605 million in favor of Peru, destined for projects in the areas of macroeconomic stability and structural reforms; basic needs, environment and infrastructure; competitiveness, productive sector and micro and small enterprises; as well as cooperation funds for Integration, Competitiveness, Governance and Culture.
After the meeting, President Toledo presented Enrique García with the Order of the Great Cross, highest honor granted by the government of Peru, in recognition of the 35th anniversary of CAF. García said that, as with all the Andean countries, CAF was the main source of multilateral finance for Peru, which has received permanent and timely support. "The objective is to continue acting as a bastion for achieving macroeconomic stability, and as a basic tool in the strategies for combating poverty and generating development."CAF's more recent content

The amount represents the largest international facility ever undertaken by Sicredi, with the involvement of four internationally renowned entities: Banco Finantia, BNP Paribas, Eco.business Fund, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
