Perú: Support for Innovation Projects for Producers Associations
In a ceremony in the CAF representative office in Lima, CAF President & CEO Enrique García and Peruvian Minister of Production David Lemor Bezdin signed a non-reimbursable technical cooperation agreement in favor of the Ministry to support the project "Competitive Fund for Innovation Projects for Producers Associations."
García said that the cooperation was part of the Corporation's actions aimed at promoting an integrated development agenda, specifically through the Andean Competitiveness Program, PAC. "We support the generation and dissemination of knowledge on the fundamentals of competitiveness so that they are properly understood and adopted by the leading economic agents with a view to making lasting changes in the building of competitive companies and organizations."The objective of the project is to facilitate innovative initiatives and practices in companies, in associative form, in an effort to improve their competitiveness and productivity, by developing innovation and applied research projects.
The project is the result of a public-private alliance between the Ministry of Production, through the CITEs Network (Technology Innovation Centers), the Exporters Association (ADEX) and the National Society of Industry (SNI) as allies in the promotion, coordination and execution of the project.The company associations favored by the project are located in the following regions of Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Loreto, Ucayali, Lima, Ica, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Puno and Tacna. The Fund will promote production chains in the agroindustry, footwear and related products, wood, metalworking and textiles and clothing sectors.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
