CAF present at 35th anniversary of FEDESARROLLO

(Bogota, April 28, 2006). As special guest at the commemoration of the 35 years of the Foundation for Higher Education and Development (Fedesarrollo), CAF President & CEO Enrique García participated in the seminar "Toward a consensus for the prosperity of Colombia" on the dilemmas and major challenges of competitiveness and social inclusion in the region.
During the meeting on April 27 in the auditorium of the Luis Angel Arango Library, García told the public and the media that CAF respected Venezuela’s sudden decision to withdraw from the Andean Community of Nations, CAN.
"We are loyal partners of all countries and do not want to intervene in problems in the sphere of another organization." Garcia said CAF would not be affected by the crisis in CAN and would continue to serve its member countries.
The CAF president also announced that important negotiations were under way with the Colombian Government on approval of funds to finance infrastructure projects for a value of almost US$1 billion for various projects in the public and private sectors.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
