Opportunity for new income in the agricultural sector

The Andean Development Corporation (CAF) and the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a workshop on the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol: Opportunities for new income for the agricultural sector.
The purpose of the event was to inform the sector of cases of projects in the agricultural sector under the CDM and promote eligible projects among national producers; taking into account the project cycle of the mechanism as well as the various tools available to facilitate the identification, implementation and marketing of the reductions. The workshop was held in Bogota on July 7 with the participation of producers and representatives from the sector with a view to promoting projects in the poultry, hog, cattle and rice sectors, along with their participation in the international carbon market.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
