CAF increases line of credit to US$2.5 million for Paraguayan financial institution
(Caracas, November 8, 2006).- As part of the strategy of the Andean Development Corporation to strengthen the Latin American microfinance system, the line of credit granted to Banco Regional de Paraguay was increased to US$2.5 million, to serve the small- and medium-sized enterprises of that country.
CAF President & CEO Enrique García explained that, with the products and services offered to this sector, the multilateral organization is contributing efficiently to the development and integration of the region's financial markets and the strengthening of one of the most dynamic and strategic sectors of its shareholder countries. García added "the strategic geographical location of this Paraguayan financial institution permits it to work with the most productive sectors of the country. This combined with the outlook for growth of services to the rural sector were the reasons that decided the increase in the line of credit."
