US$215 million agreement signed with Colombian Finance Ministry for La Línea Tunnel

(Bogotá, December 4, 2009). CAF director representative in Colombia Víctor Traverso and Minister of Finance and Public Credit Oscar Iván Zuluaga today signed a loan agreement for US$215 million. The operation was approved by the multilateral organization last March for the Republic of Colombia to cofinance construction of La Línea Tunnel. The project is considered a work of physical integration infrastructure which has been prioritized by the South American Regional Integration Initiative (IIRSA). The project will improve travel along the strategic corridor between the cities of Bogotá and Buenaventura which handles 30% of the country's foreign trade cargo.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
