In a seminar organized jointly by CAF, the Brazilian Embassy in Bolivia and the World Bank, international exhibitors will present the experience of Latin American countries in environmental management of hydroelectricity generation.
(La Paz, June 9, 2011).- “Construction of Hydroelectric Plants and Mitigation of Socio-Environmental Impact: International Experiences” is the title of the seminar to be held on June 9 and 10 in La Paz, organized by the Electricity Industry Studies Group of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (GESEL/UFRJ), through the Brazilian Embassy in Bolivia with the support of CAF - Latin American development bank - and the World Bank.
The event, to be held in the auditorium of the multilateral financial institution, will feature outstanding specialists from Eletrobras, Compañía Energética de Minas Gerais (CEMIG), Itaipu Binacional, GESEL/UFRJ, CAF and the World Bank. The experts will share their experiences and the specific scope of their institutions in socio-environmental management of electricity generation.
The objective of the seminar - which is one of a series of technical meetings organized by CAF, the Brazilian Embassy in Bolivia and the World Bank - is to support the national energy sector and make the range of positive experiences of Latin American countries available to all actors.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries and the Tobago House of Assembly celebrated the successful completion of the “Digitization and Innovation for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of the Agribusiness Sector in Trinidad and Tobago” project.
