In an unprecedented operation, CAF - Latin American Development Bank-, China Development Bank (CDB) and the Inter- American Development Bank (IDB), as high level moneylenders, jointly supported the most important airport project in Colombia, where for the first time the three institutions got together to contribute with financing, amounts, and terms that are adequate for the needs of the project. The three institutions delivered USD 390 million.
CAF resources amount to USD 50 millionand were delivered through a contract with Opain, which is in charge of the Airport's operation. Financing was aimed at modernization, expansion, administration, operation, maintenance, and commercial operation.
CAF plays a role as promoter of projects between Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America through agreements subscribed with the main financial institutions. Thus, it has attracted new financing resources to the Region.
