Jose Carrera, CAF's Social Development Vice President, stated that "Sports are one of the main activities to promote the development of children and youths in Latin America. This program allows families from poor neighborhoods to access sports practices that make it possible for the children to learn, train, and get skills for life. We seek, through sports, to create a healthy generation, promoting educational models using sports as an inclusion mechanism for children who are socially vulnerable, in order to strengthen values, self-esteem, solidarity, and team work".
The implementation of this project in Peru is possible due to the technical cooperation agreement subscribed in the city of Lima by CAF's Executive President, Enrique Garcia, and the Director Superintendent of Odebrecht, Ricardo Boleira, on December 3rd of 2013.
