President Jose Mujica met with Enrique Garcia, CAF’s Executive President
Jose Mujica, President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, met today in his office with Enrique Garcia, Executive President of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America
During the meeting, CAF's Executive President reiterated the financial institution's support for the strategic plans advanced by the Uruguayan government for the country's development.
CAF's actions in Uruguay are aimed mainly at the development of three sectors that are strategic for Uruguay: transportation by roads and railroads, energy, and water and sanitation.
CAF's support not only includes project financing but also technical assistance and generation of knowledge in each of those sectors.
In the last five years (2009-2013), CAF approved operations in favor of Uruguay for USD 2.7 billion, aimed at contributing to initiatives with a high social and productive impact in the country.
