4,800 Families in Paraguay Receive Humanitarian Aid After Floods
CAF and UNDP donated boats, mattresses and cleaning kits to the National Emergency Secretariat to aid victims of rains affecting part of Paraguay
In order to aid people affected by floods in different areas of Paraguay, CAF—development bank of Latin America—, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) donated 950 cleaning kits, 9,600 mattresses to 4,800 families, and two inboard engine boats, life vests, paddles, anchors, fire extinguishers and trailers.
The donation was made on September 24 to the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) as part of the Flood Emergency Aid project. The supplies were purchased through the “Humanitarian Aid Supply Procurement” project with CAF funds.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Joaquín Roa Burgos, Executive Secretary of the State Secretariat; Fernando Infante, CAF Director-Representative in Paraguay, and Roberto Gálvez, UNDP acting Deputy Resident Representative.
