4.800 families receive humanitarian aid after floods in Paraguay
CAF and UNDP donated boats, mattresses, and cleaning kits to the National Emergency Secretariat to assist the victims of the rains affecting part of the Paraguayan territory
In order to assist the victims of floods affecting several localities in Paraguay, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) donated 950 cleaning kits and 9,600 mattresses to 4,800 families, in addition to two boats with inboard motors, lifevests, oars, anchors, extinguishers, and trailers.
The donation was granted on September 24th at the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN, for its acronym in Spanish) in the framework of the project in support of the emergency resulting from floods. The inputs were bought through the project "Acquisition of inputs for humanitarian aid" with CAF funds.
The ceremony to deliver the donation included the attendance of Joaquin Roa Burgos, Executive Secretary Minister of the State Secretariat; Fernando Infante, CAF's Director Representative in Paraguay, and Roberto Galvez, UNDP's interim deputy Resident Representative.
