With the purpose of providing technical and institutional support, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, granted a technical cooperation to the Mayor's Office of Caroni, in the State of Bolivar, to review and update the conceptual design of an urban transportation system for Guayana City, called TRANSGUAYANA.
Through this technical assistance, CAF expects to contribute to the urban development and mobility of Guayana City, supporting the Mayor's Office of Caroni with the design of a public transportation system that is integrated, profitable, flexible, efficient, and sustainable in time.
Jose Ramon Lopez Rondon, Mayor of the Municipality of Caroni, and Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, signed the agreement.
Due to its objective of promoting the development of sustainable cities, CAF makes comprehensive interventions that respond to the needs for renewal of urban transportation systems. Thus, the Institution's road infrastructure agenda is aimed at promoting and supporting the transfer of best practices in management and intervention of the urban and inter-urban road infrastructure in the countries of the region.
