320 Peruvian officials trained in governance, political management, and public management
The training was aimed at managers and officials of diverse sectors of the central, local, and regional governments of Arequipa, Cusco, Huancayo, Lima, Tarapoto and Trujillo
CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) (Catholic University of Peru) and the Graduate School of the George Washington University, held the XII edition of the Governance, Political Management, and Public Management program, which trained 320 public officials and representatives from the civil society in six regions of the country, with the objective of carrying out transformation processes with low levels of conflict.
In this edition, the training was aimed at managers and officials from diverse sectors of the central, local, and regional governments of Arequipa, Cusco, Huancayo, Lima, Tarapoto and Trujillo. In addition, it included the participation of representatives of private companies, non-profit organizations of the civil society, political parties, and universities.
CAF's mission is to support regional integration and sustainable development in the region, but the entity also seeks to support the countries not only with respect to their social, political, and economic needs, but also in the generation of knowledge and institutional strengthening.
To consolidate a comprehensive growth in the region, it is necessary to promote a democratic culture and ethic values aimed at strengthening Latin American societies. In this respect, CAFs seeks to improve public management and institutional quality through the development of programs that promote education for public officials and actors of the civil society that contribute with actions that seek sustainable development in their localities.
The Governance, Political Management, and Public Management program has been promoted by CAF for over a decade in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela with the objective of contributing to the development of participation skills, negotiation, management of communications, and construction of political, economic, and social feasibility.
