CAF and the Real Instituto Elcano (Elcano Royal Institute) sign agreement for the generation of knowledge

The Real Instituto Elcano (Elcano Royal Institute) and CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, signed an agreement with the aim of consolidating the relationship between both entities. This agreement defines the terms of CAF's collaboration with the activities of the Elcano Royal Institute, in the framework of its goals and objectives.
This alliance in framed within the Institution's strategy of being a relevant actor and a catalyst in the generation of knowledge regarding topics of interest for Latin America, which contribute to the economic and social development of its member countries.
With this agreement, CAF becomes part of of the Entrepreneurial Advisory Council of the Elcano Royal Institute, a stable consulting body which includes companies or institutions that are committed to the objectives of the foundation.
The agreement was subscribed by Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, and Emilio Lamo de Espinosa, President of the Elcano Royal Institute. The ceremony included the attendance of Charles Powell, Director of the Elcano Royal Institute; Guillermo Fernandez de Soto, CAF's Director for Europe; Manuel Oteo, Manager of the Elcano Royal Institute, and Carlos Malamud, Principal Latin American Researcher of the Elcano Royal Institute.
This alliance strengthens the relationship between both organizations which, for many years, have worked jointly in Euro-Latin American meetings such as the one held in Sevilla in 2010, which included the presence of HRH The Prince of Asturias, Honorary President of the Elcano Royal Institute. The financial institution has also supported activities of the Institute with the SEGIB, of the Inter-American Dialogue, and the annual assemblies of the Ibero-American Network for International Studies (RIBEI, for its acronym in Spanish).
