B Enterprises, boost for a new paradigm of entrepreneurial success
To promote the Enterprises B triple impact enterprise model in Latin America, created by B Lab, we sealed a strategic alliance with System B International. One of the most promising initiatives of this decade, based on an innovative business paradigm which coordinates, in one equation, profitable operations that provide an effective solution to social and environmental problems.
This new way of understanding the role of private companies, created in the United States, is starting to gain ground. It is precisely betting on its expansion in our continent that CAF invests to accelerate and expand the development of this type of organizations and social entrepreneurships, in an operation lead by its Direction of Social Innovation which, in a first step, is implemented in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Uruguay, to expand later to Ecuador, Mexico and Peru.
As part of the strategy to encourage the model, different initiatives are promoted. The "B Day" is one of them. A day dedicated to share experiences and best practices of B Enterprises, where different types of companies participate.
Legal meetings are carried out with representatives from different lawyer firms to learn first hand, through its author, William H. Clark, about the law that regulates the benefits corporations in the United States, in order to promote a favorable regulatory framework for the movement of B Enterprises in Latin America.
The B Academy is launched, a virtual knowledge platform at the reach of everyone, where in an accessible and user friendly manner information may be found regarding the most recent case studies, publications, thesis, reports, and books produced by the academic community with respect to B Enterprises and this global movement.
The Company Builder is promoted, regarding entrepreneurial technical strengthening, an initiative that includes the participation of a selection of the best entrepreneurships in a mentoring program, where the objective is that each participant may achieve the triple impact strategy and an investment announcement that enables the participant to create an enterprise with value, with possibilities of continuing en the market. To date, the Company Builder has certified 38 B Enterprises and an additional 10 are in the certification process.
