Opening of registration for the Urban Development and Social Inclusion Contest
The fourth edition of the contest opened the registration for urban projects that improve the quality of life in Latin American cities
The contest, organized by CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, originated in the fact that close to 80 percent of the population in Latin America concentrates in cities, which face the challenges of social inclusion, and where urban development is a key element to help solve the problem.
Registration for the contest will be open until September 15th, 2015, and projects that may be implemented in the following countries may participate: Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
The previous edition awarded the project "Mapocho Pedaleable" (Pedalling around the Mapocho River) from Chile, which in words of the jurors is an initiative that has benefited a significant number of the population with resource economics.
