With a friendly match, Freddy Bareiro closes a sports project for human training
The project promotes the increase of self-esteem and social integration thgrough the practice of sports. The initiative is part of CAF's SOMOS initiative, and is supported by the Fundación Real Madrid
Freddy Bareiro, forward player in Paraguay's Olimpia, accompanied the socio-sports school Real Itaugua in the closing ceremony of a project to promote sports as a tool for education, development, and social inclusion, benefitting 130 Paraguayan children and youths.
During 18 months, the socio-sports school Real Itaugu carried out tactic and technical training workshops, pedagogical support, and nutritional assistance by implementing sports, ludic, socializing, and educational activities.
During this period, the children and youths received tools to increase their self-esteem and favor social integration, acquiring individual skills such as leadership, good habits, and social skills such as respect, team work, and resolution of conflicts.
The project was supported by the Fundacion Real Madrid and SOMOS - red del deporte para el desarrollo de América Latina (Sports network for the development of Latin America), a CAF initiative.
The socio-sports school Real Itaugua, which implemented the activities, is part of the Asociacion Casa Virgen de Caacupé, an organization promoted by the ONG CESAL of Spain.
In October of 2013, the socio-sports school joined SOMOS, through which CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and Fundacion Real Madrid joined efforts to work together to benefit 130 children and youths living in conditions of social vulnerability .
