CAF increases Bancolombia's line of credit to USD 360 million
The resources will be used to finance energy efficiency projects, foreign trade operations, working capital, and support the bank's inorganic growth in the region
CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, increased Bancolombia's line of credit to USD 360 million. The agreement seeks to facilitate and provide more financing to foreign trade operations, working capital, and investment projects, as well as support the bank's inorganic growth in the region and promote and project energy efficiency, co-generation, and green business projects.
The Bancolombia Group, a conglomerate of financing enterprises with 140 years of experience, offers a portfolio of products and services through a regional platform with presence in Colombia and El Salvador, through Banco Agricola; international banking subsidiaries in Panama, Cayman, and Puerto Rico; representative offices in Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua; and presence in Peru with trust, leasing, and renting businesses. In addition, it participates in the Guatemalan market with 40 percent of the Agromercantil Financial Group, and strengthens its presence in Panama as the owner of Banistmo.
Fifteen years ago CAF and Bancolombia established a relationship through a line of credit that allowed the financing of numerous operations approved by Bancolombia to its clients, which will now include energy efficiency, co-generation, and green businesses.
CAF supports the productive and financial sectors of its member countries, where it executes financing and investment operations in order to promote a sustainable productive transformation of the economies, financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as well as support for entrepreneurship in the region.
