CAF makes donation to help those affected by the floods in Venezuela
Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, announced the approval of an immediate donation of USD 50,000 to support the Government of Venezuela help the people affected and address the damages caused by the heavy rains in the State of Apure.
Enrique Garcia, Executive President of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, announced the approval of an immediate donation of USD 50,000 to support the Government of Venezuela in helping the people and damages caused by the rains in the State of Apure. Garcia commented, "We want to manifest our solidarity with the government and the thousands of people affected in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as a result of the torrential rains that caused so much damage to the infrastructure".
In addition, CAF provided an immediate line of credit that may be used for the reconstruction of the affected roadways as well as for the re-establishment of the remaining basic infrastructure. He stated, "This line of credit is established for extreme climatic events, earthquakes, contaminating accidents, and epidemics that may affect CAF's shareholder countries in the region".
