CAF's new Director Representative in Colombia
After a 22-year career at CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, Venezuelan Carolina España was appointed to lead the representation of the financial institution in Colombia
Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, appointed Carolina España as the entity's new Director Representative in Colombia.
Venezuelan Carolina España was, until now, Director of Institutional Financial Resources at CAF, and was responsible for the financing coming from international institutions and other multilateral organizations, as well as for the management of relations with development entities and governments, in order to attract resources for the region.
She also worked on the design of the institution's bond issuing strategy, in terms of the optimization of costs and diversification of investors, and was responsible for the relationships with risk rating agencies and investors, as well as supporting the institution's activities in international capital markets.
España, with a Master's Degree in Finances and graduated as Systems Engineer at the Universidad Metropolitana de Venezuela, worked as a consultant on treasury management systems at Price Waterhouse, where she also participated in several projects of Venezuelan companies such as PDVSA, Mavesa and Corimón.
At the same time, the outgoing Representative, L. Víctor Traverso, who worked for six years in the delegation in Colombia, is undertaking new responsibilities at the institution, linked to the implementation of new financial vehicles in Latin America for investment in infrastructure, based on the already implemented model in Colombia, which projects itself successfully in the region.
