Agreement signes between CAF and the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá to establish action lines regarding Patentable Technological Innovation
On behalf of CAF, the agreement was signed by Susana Pinilla Cisneros, Director Representative in Panama, and on behalf of the UTP, by its President, Oscar M. Ramírez
An agreement was signed between CAF and the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá. in order to contribute to solve national and international problems through the promotion of the development of patentable technologies.
Both parties will define the specific areas and priority subjects of mutual interest related to the following subjects:
- Policy programs for the promotion of international patentable technological innovation at the UTP and related entities.
- Programs in support of the patentable technological innovation ecosystem.
- Definition of financing programs for patentable technological innovation.
Susana Pinilla commented, "This joint effort with the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá will be an icon not only for the country, but also for Latin America, as Panama will be a leader on the subject of generation and distribution of patents in the United States". In addition, UTP's President Óscar Ramírez stated that this agreement is a point of inflection for the goals and visions of the UTP.
With this agreement, CAF expects to strengthen the
processes that contribute to increase the capacities of its member
countries to develop patentable innovative technologies that may be
licensed, transferred, and exported, and that contribute to
increase the technological innovation indicators, as well as
increase high technology exports from Latin America and the
Caribbean to other regions.
