CAF makes donation to help those affected by rains in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay
Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, announced the approval of immediate donations to the governments of Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay to support the population affected by the strong rains
Enrique Garcia, Executive President of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, announced the approval of immediate donations for USD 100,000 to each government in those countries, in order to support the affected population.
Garcia commented, "We want to express our solidarity with the governments and people of Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay for the thousands of victims and significant material damages caused by the strong rains".
In addition, CAF made loans available to each country for up to USD 50 million to contribute to overcomes the emergency and support the execution of preventive works, through the use of a regional line of credit approved for this end. "This line of credit is available for extreme events resulting from climate, earthquakes, contaminating accidents, and epidemics that may affect CAF shareholder countries in the region", stated Garcia.
