PlanCHA initiates actives with Itaipú financing and CAF support
The Paraguayan Information Agency informed that Itaipú Binacional granted a loan for 900 million to the Executive Secretariat of the Master Plan of the Historic Center of Asuncion, for a period of one year, to initiate office operations and hire the professional staff to manage the implementation of the plan
The financial support of Itaipú Binacional is the counterpart of the technical cooperation that CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, approved for the PlanCHA. It is the first multilateral cooperation received by this important initiative, which, coordinating the national government with the municipality, seeks to recover the historic center of the capital city.
The Minister of Culture noted, "Asulab will function as a management entity, whose task will be to translate the ten strategies of the Master Plan into actions, investment opportunities, and generation of employment. In addition, it seeks to make both the financial and technical cooperation converge in order to ensure the sustainability of the process".
The Paraguayan General Director of Itaipú, James Spalding, stated that this cooperation helps to transform the governmental vision into action, creating synergies between the institutions involved.
He added, "Each Guarani that is generated at Itaipú must help the people. The CAP and the SNC reassure and provide guarantees that these resources will be used as they should".
The inauguration of this project was held this Monday in the auditorium of Itaipú, with the participation of the Minister of Culture, Mabel Causarano, the Paraguayan General Director of the Bi-national Bank, James Spalding, the Minister of Senavitat, Soledad Núñez, the Minister of the SEN, Joaquín Roa, Representative Ramón Romero Roa, the Executive Director of Coordination, Pedro Domaniczky, and Hugo Cáceres Di Leo, representing the Association of Architects of Paraguay (CAP, for its acronym in Spanish), which will be the institution that will manage the funds.
